Heart & Soul is a real down to earth all acoustic country/ blues band featuring 12-string, 6-string, dobro, piano, bass and mandolin with highly versatile country rock vocals. Mainstays of the band are songwriter/ 12-string guitarist John Scott, lead vocalist Cindy Sauer and bassist John (JJ) Joseph. They are also accompanied by an entourage of local pickers and players, Tommy Williamson (6-string), Tim Latimer (dobro), Joe Vaught (drums), Jim Scarlet (6-string, dobro, mandolin and piano)and Steve Farrell (bass, drum programming and hammond organ). Although they did submit to the steel guitar playing of Larry Sasser (Ray Steven’s steel player), they steer away from electric guitars and synthesizers. Take away studio effects and amplification most bands fall apart. “If you can take acoustic guitars, sit in a room and blow people away that’s a statement!” Songwriter John Scott and vocalist Cindy Sauer along with bass player John Joseph have the perfect combination of songs played from the “Heart” that touch the “Soul”.

A Breath of Fresh Air for the Country Music Listener
author: Dan
I must admit I am not a Real Country Music Fanatic and have become desensitized to the Recent Releases that artists have been pumping out. It seems that most music now-a-days becomes the same thing over and over again. Almost like New Music has to follow a certian template in order to be released on the Mainstream Market. Heart and Soul has changed all that for me. when I heard Lonely Street I Felt carried away to a Soulful jazz-like atmosphere with enough southern style to keep it country or southern rock.
The Lyrics tell a timeless story that I can identify with and this remains a constant for the other songs on the CD.
The Note - I really can not verse into words that will do this song justice, all I can say is, it is the truths in this song that help us to evaluate the Quality of time we spend with eachother versus the Quantity.
Thank You, Heart & Soul. I am looking foward to your next release. I rate 4 out of 5 because True Art can never be Perfect only agreed upon.
Dan.
