Album Notes

Heather Dale cheerfully disregards the stereotypical limits for both folk singer-songwriters and Celtic balladeers. Tapping into the continuing evolution of Celtic peoples worldwide, this Canadian recording artist offers a new type of Celtic music for the 21st century: a playful, passionate blend of tradition and innovation. "Her music is powerful stuff, reminiscent of Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan but with a depth and resonance rooted in its mythic sources." (Vancouver Sun)

With her CD 'The Trial of Lancelot', Heather has crafted a journey into the King Arthur story that draws these legends forward into the present day. Some songs take the form of traditional ballads, while others explore the emotions of Sir Lancelot, Queen Guinevere and King Arthur from a first-person perspective. The album features Heather's evocative lyrics and melodies, supported by such diverse instruments as cello, tin whistle, electric guitar, piano and didgeridoo. With lush orchestration and Celtic-inspired vocals, this Modern Celtic recording bridges the gap between the traditional and the new.

Heather Dale tours full-time (100+ concerts per year) across North America and Europe. Recordings by Heather Dale include: The Gabriel Hounds (2008), The Hidden Path: Live & Rarities (2006), The Road to Santiago (2005), May Queen (2003), This Endris Night (2002), Call The Names (2001), and The Trial of Lancelot (2000).

I can see Camelot!
author: Kirk Webber
Heather's haunting voice and the passion she puts into her music comes thru clearly in this wonderful tribute to the legend of King Arthur and the love between Lancelot, Arthur, and Guinevere. A wonderful album, I'm so glad Marc Gunn and his Irish and Celtic Music Podcast introduced me to her and her music.

Hauntingly Beautiful
author: Mandy
I heard Mordred's Lullaby as a song on a You Tube clip someone had made and it took me a long time to hunt down who it was singing it, I didn't even know the title, just a couple of lines of the lyric. From that one song I knew I had to buy the CD and CD Baby was the only place I could find that would ship to Australia. The lyrics are just beautiful, and Arthurian legends are one of my favourites. The melodies are just wonderful. I've listened to noting but this CD since I got it.

Inspiring and beautiful
author: Sofie
Heather has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. I wish I could describe in detail what makes this cd so great, but I am afraid my English vocabulary is not good enough for that. Besides, no one would have the patience to read through it all… So I am just going to say this: Buy it! You will not be disappointed.
