Album Notes

HeavensDust was formed in 2000 by Shin (Vo.Gt.). The goal was to create an individual sound that no other band can make.
In 2003 Goushi (Dr.), Kamikaze (koto) and Ajo (wadaiko) made the final pieces of the puzzle. By including koto (traditional Japanese harp) and wadaiko (traditional Japanese drums) HeavensDust mixed traditional Japanese melody and rhythm with alternative metal and rock.

HeavensDust is one of my favorite rock metal bands, and they have a wonderful mix of instruments not normally seen in the metal genre. Very ingenious and a mix of incredible songs. I am so glad I found and purchased this artist's music, and I recommend anyone who loves this style of music to get any of their CDs.

Very different sounding album from their two latest cd's ("Closure..." and "...Voice") with songs ranging from the savagely dark and brutal to the brutally beautiful. It sounds better every time I listen to it. Get this cd!!

But first - upon inserting this cd in your computer, it will try to open a website for the band. It took a couple tries to get it to just play the music and stop opening the web page. I recorded to the drive and haven't had any problems since. The bass is buzzy on a few songs, but otherwise good recordings. The first seven songs are not songs, but four seconds each of clicks and pops. The MUSIC: On the second play and more, songs began to stand out from each other. Half the songs are good, the other half are really good. Some stand outs were Kagami (instrumental), Hang, Alive, Snow, Trust No One, In Disgrace, Living Dead, and Endless Sins (instrumental). The use of Japanese drum and harp isn't very pronounced here, if used at all. HeavensDust's two other cds do use more of the traditional Japanese instruments. Overall, I would recommend this cd.
