About HeavySURF
This Long Island, N.Y. quartet brings the best of the heavy groove and musicianship of the 70's and fuses it with a contemporary feel to create a sound unlike anything heard on the scene today. Hints of Living Colour, The Hendrix Experience and Stone Temple Pilots can be heard, as well as early Led Zeppelin, Paul Dianno era Iron Maiden and contemporaries Incubus, 3 Doors Down and AlterBridge.
History
Billy (Pills) was formerly the lead guitarist and songwriter for the LI rock band Celestial. Old MacDonald was the drummer for Negative Reaction, a cutting-edge metal band. Joe has extensive experience on the LI circuit as a bassist in both punk rock and classic rock bands. Mark had been busy in numerous LI projects, formerly as a drummer, but recently stepped into the spotlight as a lead singer, lending his unique voice to the band’s sound.
Schedule
The band is currently playing select N.Y. shows. They have recently put the finishing touches on their debut CD, recorded at Mike Sapone’s (Brand New, Public Enemy) Bethpage, N.Y. studio.
