Hector Fector is a sparkling new addition to Canadian alternative-pop music.. The 11 songs on this debut CD "We Are Romantic" were lovingly crafted, richly layered in pianos, guitars, electronica and synths, and cello and horns over bass and drums. HF's influences range from Radiohead and Death Cab for Cutie to Rufus Wainwright. "W.A.R" is a work of obsessive love and features the songs "Let's Make Friends" and "Malaysia".
Hector Fector's "We Are Romantic" is Greg Amundson's baby, and it features his singing, song-writing, pianos and synth. It is also the child of a former band (Sill) with Dave Farhall (bass) and Adam Stark (drums). It was Co-produced by Lane Arndt, who adds guitars, electronica and programming, and it was engineered and mixed by Stew Kirkwood at Sound Extractor in Edmonton, Alberta. It was mastered by Phil Demetro at Lacquer Channel in Toronto and features the art of Raymond Biesinger.
These songs are the culmination of years of hard work. The lyrics are inspired by family, friends and lovers (real and imagined), pain, and God. They are about travel and movement. They are darkly optimistic and romantic, and they are a celebration of lives in music.
