Album Notes
“It was always singing. My family sang Beatles songs to me: ‘Listen, Ooo Wah Ooo, do you want to know a secret?” It was also in high school. Freddie Mercury’s music and performance style moved me. My public performance began with theatre in the Sock \'n Buskin Club in high school. But it was in college when I realized the power of the lyrics and the delivery of song. I took a songwriting class (at Muhlenberg College in Allentown!) but was still only in awe of those who could combine lyric and song and performance to create their own unique message.”

Heidi has always known that singing would be her chosen dream, her chosen career. Life- changing experiences like marching and organizing for the Great Peace March forever changed the direction and focus of her music. “I wondered when the world would be ready and receptive to songs of social change.” Then her audience changed and it became important to nurture and uplift those who work to create positive change in the world.

And she became one who worked to create Tikkun Olam (in Hebrew, “the repair or perfection of the world”). Heidi has traveled to Israel as part of the Earthstewards Network to learn first-hand about the painful conflict between Palestinians and Jews within their own country. Pregnant with her daughter, she visited the Hague in the Netherlands to participate in the global conference, the Hague Appeal for Peace. And locally, Heidi has organized a Peace Camp for children and supports organizations like the Green Cities Coalition of the Pikes Peak Region, working to help Colorado Springs to become a “healthy, equitable, and sustainable community.”

Now her audience is all of us. Regardless of our political or religious world views, the challenges of the warming of our planet and the sustainability of its resources affect us all. Each of our lives have become a palette for world change, and we all struggle to understand how to best participate in creating a better and healthier planet and healthier lives for ourselves.

Thank you for visiting this website. Blessings of peace, good health and happiness to you. And I hope you enjoy the music.
