Album Notes

Heidi started writing music around age five when she began plucking out melodies on an old tattered piano. In college, Heidi got her hands on a guitar and fell in love. It was the perfect outlet for all of the songs she had been writing in her head. She began playing, singing and writing for many different venues. Composing became the perfect way to combine her love for writing with her love for music. For the past 6 years, Heidi has played in various settings and, in the past year, birthed The Inner Tapestry Project, starting with their first CD, released in 2006: Inner Tapestry: The Art of Being Honest.
Heidi has grown up all over the country, but now resides in the shadow of The Rocky Mountains of Colorado where she feels most at home. With Inner Tapestry, she hopes to use her music locally, nationally and even internationally. Heidi has been influenced by artists such as: Sarah McClachlan, Patty Griffin, Mindy Smith, Rosie Thomas, Coldplay, Shawn Colvin and Katie Herzig. Heidi’s music is an extension of her heart as she seeks to communicate about the various aspects of our journeys through raw, honest lyrics and her folk pop sound. She brings a message of hope in the midst of the mess that life can be.
