Album Notes

Herb is interested in rules, especially breaking them. Using the language of our culture, he draws upon his interests in experimental and electronic music, surrealist cinema, musical comedy, and self-referentialism to create music and other stuff which demonstrate, by example, how (not) to be.

Herb's debut CD, "Failure," is a concept album about failure. Artistic failure. Commercial failure. Successful failure.

"Failure" has a lush, dark, electronic sound. It is grounded in pop but includes surprising twists and turns into strange and complex territory.

The album features Herb on lead vocals, guitar and other instruments, with guest appearances by Joel Davel and Amy X Neuburg.
