Helane's first jazz effort 2000, after years as an independent singer/songwriter, this is part live, part in living room, part in-studio recording. Easy Jazz with a danceable rhythm quiet like her Live at Keswick Hall recording. "We Laughed at Love" and "Bei Mir" exemplify that this one is of her personal favorites. More subtle vocal quality, ingenue, with more experimental back up band. Song tracks are chosen from early shows at Miller's in Charlottesville, Virginia, and Keswick Hall. Produced by Lance Brenner of the Naked Puritans at his studio, Myth, Mansion in tha Hood, and accompanied by George Turner on Guitar, Bob Bowen on bass, and Aaron Binder on Drums.
