Album Notes

Helcio Luiz, a composer from Brazil, is inspired by nature. He was born in a tropical city, Rio de Janeiro, where he learned to care and work for protection of natural resources and wildlife.

Helcio composed many songs while in law school and working as a forest ranger. He was a free lancer in the music-set until he launched a band in Rio's scenario in 2001.

DesafinadaMente reflects these experiences, echoing the sounds of Rio's forests and the city. This CD is unique. It brings an incredible melody, root rhythms from Brazil, and a passionate group of musicians, including flute solos by Sidney Hezage.
