ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
FROM ANOTHER ROOM

Davey’s solo pianoscapes are a series of improvisations inspired by text and pictures. The album was recorded one weekend in Zurich during the unusually cold winter of 2006/2007. Davey went into the studio with a handful of imagery, placed them in turn onto the music stand and played a spontaneous soundscape ("sound-painting") to each one.

This is sublime music. The intricacies of the music pure pleasure. It is soothing and relaxing but you are always listening as the music takes you on a journey that is such a pleasure to be on. I hope this artist is busy recording more in a similar ouvre. Well done Helen Davey.

This was so calming and relaxing to listen to. I played it in the office and created a perfect work environment.

Transcendental
Music that transports your senses to far-away places, or very close by... beautifully meditative - meandering explorations! One is tempted to call it timeless, but at the same time it is linked to a very particular weekend and particular places. Magic beyond all fads and trends.

This is pure joy, the mesmerising sounds flowing from beneath Helen Davey's fingers, transport the listener to another really beautiful place, far away from anything so mundane as somewhere with four walls.

Filmmusik

Music to take you home, to enchant you, to make you remember who you are and who you can become. I love this album.
