Helen is a singer and songwriter whose songs detail wide-ranging life situations both on a personal and universal level. Her lyrics often take the listener on intricate trips through the darkest crevices of the soul, pulled through the other side by, if not complete hope, then vital understanding. These journeys are accompanied by a predominantly electronic, yet varied musical pallete, pulled from her upbringing in the San Francisco Bay Area: East Bay soul, British Punk and New Wave, South Bay rock and North Bay folk all figure in the tasty, provocative stew that forms her music.

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Helen has been writing songs since she was 12 and singing for much longer before that. A classically trained vocalist, Helen performed in various plays and musicals around the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid-1990's before trying her hand as an recording artist. Have established herself as a musical internet presence in 1999, her songs have topped the charts on sites such as MP3.com, Soundclick.com, Soundlift.com, and Artistlaunch.com. She recorded her first full-length CD, Monochrome In Technicolor, during the month of February 2008, using a Dell Axim PDA (with Griff sequencing software installed), an Ovation Applause acoustic/electric guitar, an Xavierre electric guitar, an old Yamaha MU-5, and a Zoom H4 Handy Recorder. Don't expect a super-slicked up studio production. Do expect a lot of folk, a lot of beats, and a lot of soul.
