Album Notes

Hercules is a Norwegian boogierock band, and probably one of few bands left, playing this kind of music. Starting out in 1997 they have been compared to artists like Status Quo,Ac/Dc,ZZ-Top etc, but Hercules have developed a sound of their own, earning them respect and fans worldwide.

Their latest cd Licence To Rock have been described by fans as "best boogierock album in 25 years", and they were also voted best boogie album 2005 in Englands Classic Rock Magazine.

If you like Status Quo take time to listen to Hercules!!

So glad I found this band! Was doing some searching for boogie rock and found Hercules. I'm a big Status Quo fan and think these guys have that same sound that just makes you feel so good! A brilliant, exciting vocalist in Vemund Moss with foot-tapping guitar riffs and melodies. A must buy for all boogie rock fans.

I own about 150 Status Quo records and I'm going to write something about this band that I said I'd never write about a band: These guys sound like Status Quo. The sound on this record is very similar to Quo's "On The Level" album. The singer even comes very close to Francis Rossi's singing. I'm going to own all of Hercules' records soon!

I'm a Quo fan since 1968 and I've seen and heard a lot of Quo Cover Bands. Some were good, some were bad. But this Band Hercules is the best Quo in Style Band. But attention - there are no Quo cover songs. All songs are written by the band. Fresh and wild; four guitars, drums and Hammond Organ, no Synthesizer. The vocals are a perfect mix between Fancis Rossi and Rick Parfitt. This CD could be a follow-up to Quo's Blue For You Album. Licence to Rock is definitely one of the best Boogie Rock CD, I've ever heard. ALL KILLER - NO FILLER. The only drawback. It's only 31 minutes long. Now I'm going to buy their first CD Checin' in.
