Album Notes

HER was co-founded by guitarist Trisha Doan and singer Rose Perry in August 2001 with the intention of demonstrating that "chicks can rock just as hard as boys". Recruiting fellow high school best friends Cara Moyer, & Kerry Hayden, bass and drums, respectively, HER was a learning experience and beneficial stepping stone for all of those involved. In fact, Moyer and Hayden picked up their instruments for the first time for the sake of the group.

Performing both covers and original material in the London music scene for several years, HER achieved a great deal of success and exposure through the local media, and some of their most notable performances include support slots for Tuuli, Candyass, Ruth's Hat, The Weekend, Two Minute Miracles, and LiveonRelease. At a very early juncture in their career, they even managed to secure a slot playing to a crowd of 20,000 boaters at the annual Turkey Point Pottahawk Pissup!

Shortly after the release of their debut album, Straight From the Loft in 2003, HER disbanded due to a lack of cohesion in terms of future direction, however all of HER's members continued to obtain prosper in various entertainment-related endeavours alongside their scholarly studies: Trisha Doan persisted with music and is the current bassist for Kittie, Kerry Hayden has toyed with the idea of being a bassist in various local projects and recently started her own photography company, Cara Moyer relocated to Montreal and decided to pursue her main love in life: drama , and Rose Perry founded her latest musical project ANTI-HERO in 2005, and some of the unreleased material she wrote back in the HER days was reworked to appear on ANTI-HERO's debut effort, Unpretty.
