Most enjoyable. I think this album fits squarely into the category 'hard to classify.' It should appeal to those who think outside the box, and people with an interest in big band, jazz, klezmer, classical, cabaret, and folk music.  The band's lineup produces a thick and full sound that belies the relatively small lineup- larger than a rock quartet, but smaller than most orchestras. The harp comes wafting through lending an air of surreality to the determined progressions of horns, strings, and percussion. The truly lupine sounding howling on one of the tracks is surprisingly the work of a human singer, or so I gather from the liner notes. It is in such serendipitous moments that Herringbone Orchestra adds an air of mysteriousness to its sound.
