HERE IS a NEW REVIEW FROM THE WA BLUES SOCIETY **JUNE2008 Bluesletter**
"Within 5 seconds after the Hettel Street Blues band started playing I said to myself, "WHAT A FIND! WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD MORE ABOUT THIS BAND?" there are future BB Award nominees and possible winners in this band! it is rare to hear a band that features sax and harmonica at the same time, and even more rare for the sound to be fantastic, but this band accomplishes it. WHAT a find! the very professional vocalist is Kathy Hettel. the bass player is Donn Harvey. the drummer is Rick bowen. The sax players is harold Fox. The harmonica players is Steve Beadrey. The very impressive guitarist is Scott Caruso.
Kathy Hettel does something as a vocalist I don't see every day, she alters tempos, she starts, slow soft and low, then builds to the point of a powerful climax that astounds, then repeats the cycle. Classical music like Beethoven's 9th does this. this woman does is in blues What a find! Their rendition of "Summertime" was amazing. The softness and soulfullness built to a powerful movement that was like a slow awakening on a Sunday morning with a smile and leading a little while later to an awesome eargasm.

I've seen Hettel Stree Blues perform many times, and this CD captures all the tang and zest of the live shows. Great bluesy vocals and tasty instrumentals! The rhythm section is smokin'! An excellent CD!
