HEY STEVIE's second release titled "The World's a Better Place" features ten outstanding cuts. The title song, "The World's A Better Place" not only sets the tone for this fulfilling CD but sets the stage for a great cover of The Beach Boy classic, "Sail On Sailor". To see a great review of the "The World's A Better Place", see the winter 2001 issue of Endless Summer Quarterly.

Hey Stevie's Steve Heger and Tom Jacob have been in the music business for most of their lives. Tom has musical roots dating back to his childhood and has shared gigs with the likes of The Steve Miller Band, Buffalo Springfield, Three Dog Night, and Iron Butterfly. He and his brothers were the band that backed such greats as Big Joe Turner, Chuck Berry, Canned Heat and T-Bone Walker. At one point, they were managed by Pat Carlin, George Carlin's brother and writer in which they did many college performances with George. In the eighties, Tom's first exposure to Beach Boy music was working with Stevie Heger in his early studio engineering days, engineering for Al Jardine at his Big Sur studio "The Barn". Stevie had been a long-time engineer for Al Jardine, Stevie introduced Tom to Al and thus the start of Tom's gig with Al Jardine's Family and Friends.

I heard about the CD from Calsaga and really was pleasantly surprised when I actually played it. The band has its own clean sound with various tastes and the music is easy listen to. My favorite song though, being a Beach Boy fan and all, is Sail On Sailor. That is great guys!

Takes Sail on Sailor to new heights
author: Dave Maclean
Found this group and their music by accident but so glad I did. Sail On Sailor the Beach Boys clasic is so fresh. Strange at first due to the new lyrics and just when you think it is over it moves scale very well done. Good harmonies here very and well produced. Other stand out tracks are The letter A, Great white race, No Tears for Trying. I look forward to the next Hey Stevie album
