Album Notes

Listening to this record, you can tell how much we wanted to capture the sound of our live shows. We were playing really well on a Midwest tour and felt up to the challenge of recording while on the road. We had a gig in Chicago one night and decided to record our set a few times before the show. The end result is a gritty rock and roll record made the old-fashioned way.

Terence Bernardo: Bass / Vox
Hunter Perrin: Guitar / Vox

"The hi-five album draws on many familiar styles of classic rock. It is something of what the Shins did with Brian Wilson, but with the Beatles. The album ranges from an acoustic neo-folk in Jack Johnson's style, with "family name" and "bros. kennedy," which glorify tradition, to more upbeat rock, with wandering guitar solos and amp effects similar to the Pixies"

"I just did a re-listen of hi-five.  These are some of the great songs of our times.  "border lights," "stranger," and all the others...What I am
getting from these songs is positive vibrations . . . I get a sense of
"joie de vivre" from your music.  "Elan vital," if you will. "
