While steeped in the jazz continuum, it has a rare combination of being sophisticated while appealing to a wide spectrum of listeners. Jay anderson is one of today's most sought after bassists. He has played with Michael Brecker. Bob Mintzer, Maria Schneider, Frank Zappa, Michael Franks, Joe Sample, Paul Bley to name a few. He has been featured on over three hundred albums and he has two albums under his own name [Next Exit & local color.Both available at CD baby ]. Adam Nussbaum needs no introduction. He has played with John Abercrombie, Michael Brecker, John Scofield, Joe Sample, Dave Liebman, Stan Getz, James Moody, Elaine Elias, and Toots Thielman to name a few.Michael Higgins began playing guitar at the age of seven and has studied with Joe Pass, Howard Roberts, Joe Diorio, Ted Greene, Barney Kessel, Dale Ramey, Scott Tennant, Brian Head among others. He Has played or recorded with Maynard Ferguson, Dizzy Gellespie, Eddie Harris, Bernadette Peters, Shirley Maclaine, among many others. Michael has a Bachelors In Music in Classical Guitar from Long Beach State University and a Masters In Music from USC in Studio Jazz Guitar. He has studied composition with Lyle Spud Murphy, Ladd Macintosh, Tom Kubis and many others. Michael is part of the critically acclaimed group Shapes [ shapes music.com], which has two CD's out and has traveled and performed world wide. He is on the faculty of Califonia State University Long Beach and Golden West College. Michael is a true student of the guitar and music and is always searching for new things to learn in life and music.
