Album Notes

Jean Hilbert\'s fascination with music began at the age of 6 when she began picking out melodies on her two-octave xylophone. She began private piano lessons at the age of 7. She continued lessons throughout high school where she entered and won numerous solo piano competitions. She has also been a church pianist for 35 years. Her passion for music has continue to grow over the years and in 1994 she began writing and performing her own compositions. Her instrumental music has been aired on various radio stations across the country. She has performed benefit concerts for Agape Christian School, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Sartori Hospital Festival of Trees as weel as performing at the V.I.P. Reception preceding a Bill Cosby performance. Jean has performed at various locations throughout the Cedar Vally as a solo pianist including the Cedar Falls Womens Club, Gallagher Blue Dorn Performing Arts Center, Debut Art Gallery, Farradays\' (Isle of Capri), Sunnyside Country Club, Elks Club, Centennial Oaks Country Club and PIPAC Events Center. In 2000 Jean teamed up with vocal recording artists Wade Brinkopf and Jeff Reynolds to form the Contemporary Christian Group Reflections.

Reflections has performed at many locations and events throught Iowa and surrounding states bringing the message of God\'s love and peace through their music. Some of these include providing music for worship services, a series of concerts entitled \"The Gathering\", Christmas concerts, banquets, luncheons, retreats and outdoor events and weddings.

\"I like music that paints a picture and touches a person\'s soul - whether it makes you laugh, cry, smile, sigh, dance or sit on the edge of your seat with anticitpation. With \"Awesome Night\" my hope was to capture the Spirit of the Christmas season by touching the the broad scope of emotions that it brings. From the account of Christ\'s birth in \"Awesome Night\" to the quiet mysterious melodies in \"Breaking Stillness\" and Only the Father\'s Love\" to the childlike anticipation and excitement in \"I Can Dream\", it is my hope that everyone who hears this CD will find the special meaning of Christmas within this selection of music.\"

Awesome Night is Jean\'s fourth professionally recorded CD and the second of two recorded with the group Reflections. The project was recorded at Catamount Recording studios in Cedar Falls, IA. The album was produced and engineered by Tom Tatman who has a gold record and two grammy nominations to his credit. Tom\'s vast experience along with his precision and skill has resulted in an outstanding blend.
