Traditional yet contemporary. A slice of Son House - a dose of Robert Johnson - the risk taking of Jimi Hendrix -bottled up in Keb Mo - You've got Bryan Himes!
Original and inspiring - no jiving here. He's got the goods - let him prove it to you - He is a Risk Taker.
This fourth CD which focuses strictly on the blues leaves no question as to Bryan's influences. Although he has dabbled in various genres the blues is his where he shines.
He has represented central Ky. in the International Blues Comepetition in Memphis in 2001(solo) and in 2003(band). His highly charged performances are captivating.
The powerful vocals are crisp and clean and his slide guitar work is totally spellbinding!! His lyrical style can range from the humorous to the story-telling style of Dylan or Johnny Cash. Bryan's music has something for everyone to enjoy!!!!!

Lovin' some good Blues and this CD does the trick. From the Start to the finish the only bad thing is that it ends. And "I want you bad"....Can't even comment and keep my mind on the writing. This man knows his blues!!!

True bluesman, just guitar and vocal, pure raw talent
author: Uncle John
Plenty of tapping on this one. Gets the point across so well you can feel the blues with this album. Excellent in my book if just vocals with a guitar can pull it off. True bluesman rock.

The weather might be coolin' off, but it's certainly heating up in here when Bryan Himes gets on his deep-groove, delta blues ride. This guy is boiling water, white-flaming excitement and high-wired like an electric fence just darin' you to come near. Heartily inspired by Son House, Robert Johnson, Keb Mo and Jimi Hendrix, he is the habanero pepper of this week's Editor's Picks. For those who like their music on the edge, all emotion hanging out, gut-churning and gritty, you have found your man.
