ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
At the beginning of the 90's, one fine summer's day, a loose jam session (Blue Room Sessions) was arranged at a small recording studio in London. A followup session showcased these original songs by Hinano Reia.

Vocalist and Songwriter HINANO REIA began singing jazz in the late 80's. Her earliest collaboration was with veteran pianist Colin 'Barney' Bates. After guesting with British Dixieland saxophonist and bandleader Harry Gold, she worked on the London circuit before moving to New York to explore new musical genres including rock, folk and pop. Keyboardist/Arranger VERYAN WESTON is best-known for his work with British avant-garde musicians vocalist Phil Minton and saxophonist Lol Coxhill. Bassist - GARY CROSBY is a founder member of the original Jazz Warriors. Having won numerous awards for his contribution to jazz music he leads Gary Crosby’s Nu Troop, Gary Crosby Trio, Guava, Jazz Jamaica and Jazz Jamaica All Stars. Drummer NANA TSIBOE toured the US at the height of the civil rights movement in the 1960s, sharing stages with Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X. Artists he has worked with include Nina Simone, Marvin Gaye and Paul McCartney. Saxophonist - SIMON PICARD is a stalwart of British Jazz and noted for his avante garde improvisations.
