Easily, the best...

rendition of \"The Meaning of the Blues\" ever recorded! Unhurried, nuanced, deeply-felt, carefully (caringly) interpreted--and with the clear evidences of a singer who knows exactly what she is doing, and why. Ms. Hindmarsh is a credit to jazz, to the singer\'s craft, and to music in general. If you haven\'t already done so, turn off the TV from such over-produced and under-whelming dreck such as \"American Idol\" and \"Dancing with the Stars,\" put a CD on (such as this one or a recording by Irene or \"Sassy\" or \"Brownie\") and let yourself be variously inspired and truly entertained. If you love music, never settle for anything second-best.

Lisa's voice is soothing calming and leaves one to relax even in a moment of frustration.. I've certainly enjoyed her tempo, lyrics and the combination of different moods that many can identify with. This is a "MUST" album for all to hear, don't miss it!

This is Talent!

This is a voice equally enchanting as Sarah Vaughan's when singing in English and Astrud Gilberto's when in Portuguese. Ms. Hindmarsh has tackled (with great success) a huge variety of Jazz species, not being afraid to choose a few very sexy songs to go with it either (Fever/Ms. Byrd)! Not to mention that her "Lullaby of Birdland" is one of the most melodic versions of this legendary song there are out there. The only way in which this album leaves its listener somewhat puzzled is why the heck isn't Lisa performing with the Boston Symphony or recording with GRP.

Heart and Soul - our newest jazz Elite Artist
author: Michael Allison - The Global Muse
The essence and beauty of jazz has long been a calling for some of the most powerful and alluring voices in history. The vocal presence on this CD, 'Now I Know' captures that essence as well as anything. There is an aura to the music on this album that embellishes the finer quality of musical passion and purity. A complete joy to listen to. I spent almost a week listening to this music over and over before sitting down to write about it. I simply could not put this one down. I'm a big fan of the complexity and gentle flow and dynamics of jazz. I think that is why I fell in love with this CD. Not all jazz artists can paint the eloquent tapestry of musical texture that Lisa Hindmarsh has here. As the music played, time and time again, I found myself captivated by the sheer power of Lisa's voice. There is truly a memorable tone and passion that forces me to believe that Lisa Hindmarsh was born to sing. This album also contains a great collection of jazz masterpieces that will charm even the most demanding of jazz aficionados. Great music comes from the heart, and is created with a lot of love and soul. That is exactly what you will hear on this album. Lisa definitely pours it all into this album, and is now ready to reap the rewards.
