From his early days in England backing Lee Dorsey, Sonny Boy Williamson and singer Ben E King, Tim has always loved Blues and Soul Music. He first experienced TV and 'Top of the Pops' playing with 'The Bo Street Runners', whose drummer was Mick Fleetwood.
Tim went on to become one of the world's top session musicians recording and touring with Humble Pie, Van Morrison, George Harrison, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Tom Waits, Bad Company, Whitesnake, Tim Buckley, Al Stewart, Thin Lizzy, Roger Daltrey and his old friend, Ten Years After Guitarist, Alvin Lee.
From Jody Grind, Tim's Hammond Organ trio that wowed audiences across Europe in the sixties to Hinkleys Heroes, the loose jamming band made up of seventies fugitives from the top British rock acts of the time, Tim has always been there playing his music.
Currently a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, Tim continues to play, write and produce.
This new solo album, 'a little bit Of SOUL' was recorded on a 16 track 2 inch Ampex tape recorder through an MCI console with lotsa tube pre amps including the infamous "NASH" microphone pre-amp.
The sessions featured real musicians playing live in the the studio. The players on the album feature Muscle Shoals alumni: David Hood on bass, Spooner Oldham on Hammond organ, Harvey Thompson on saxophones, Charles Rose on trombone and horn arrangements, Kelvin Holly on guitar, and Wayne Jackson (of the Memphis Horns) on trumpet, flugelhorn and trombone.
Tim's old compatriot, drummer Ian Wallace provides the funky drum beats, and Dan Penn (who also co-wrote three of the songs with Tim) produced the recordings at his studio, The Memphis Room.
Interestingly, one of the songs on this recording is co-writen by Tim, Alvin Lee and George Harrison..The track 'Heart and Soul' also features Alvin Lee on guitar.

This CD is funky and down-home and has some rich sounds.

This CD is soulful and reflective and sounds a lot like B.B. King. If you like bluesy type of music or your in the mood for that kind of music, I think you would like this.
