Acoustic-based Alt.Country/Americana music complete with georgeous lap steel, b-bender tele, and banjo/mandolin licks. Hinman's rich baritone vocal delivery encourages these well-written tunes to stand out from the crowd.

notes
---------------
Seattle-based Americana artist Chad Hinman revs it up a little by adding full band production to his second release: Strawberry Sunward.
While mostly staying within the lines of his proven subtle, hook-infused songwriting methods, Hinman here chooses to occasionally cover a little more ground than the well-trodden and comfortable folksinger arena usually allows. Check it out today!

Simply fun to listen.
author: Matt WetzelIt's one of those CD's that needs no song skipping. I just enjoy every note.
This is a great CD!
author: Erin McFaddenThese songs get better the deeper you get into it. Maybe Someday is stark, acoustic, and heartfelt. California has an old-country feel that is missing in today's watered-down country offerings. Univibe has a groove that's working it's way towards bluesy-soul. Be sure to check it out today!
Hinman & Co: a staple of the scene
author: Nate Lippens, Roots and Americana column, The Stranger, Seattle,Singer/songwriter Chad Hinman's music on Strawberry Sunward belies the natural lightness of its title. Hinman's voice sounds like a burnished Jay Farrar on the lovely mandolin waltz "The Garden," counterpointed by Cat Kinsey's backing vocals. The album has country-rock shuffles and the Never Was is a flexible band featuring Randy Neal, Brian Oppel, and Andrew Galluccio. I think Hinman and company will soon become a staple of the local scene so don't miss them.
Love Chad
author: Collected SoundsChad's voice is smooth, homey and makes you feel like you're melting into his words. Very nice, indeed. The songs are very well written with interesting lyrics and nice melodies, which are catchy but far from ordinary. If you're a fan of the alt.country/folk genre, you owe it to yourself to check him out. This album fits in nicely among your Sun Volt, Wilco, Ryan Adams CDs. Stand out songs: A Certain Light, Maybe Someday, & The Garden. But really they’re all good, these are ones that just popped out to me.
