Album Notes

Hip Bones, the popular Jazz Funk trio based in San Francisco, has performed hundreds of club and festival dates since 1993, headlining and opening for the likes of Allan Holdsworth and Coco Montoya, from Yoshi's Nitespot in Oakland to Soho in Santa Barbara to Cino Grille in Charlotte and Brandy House in Atlanta.

Threedom is Hip Bones' third album. The music combines the freedom of Jazz with the energy of Funk and Rock. There are four new original numbers, three penned by woodwind man Gary Schwantes. The band continues its habit of creative arranging, putting its stamp on Miles and Bird Standards and creating new ones out of tunes by the O'Jays, Sting, and Cream. Fearless in its approach to musical boundaries, Hip Bones appeals to college radio, to fans of Monk and Funk, of Hip-Hop and Phish.

Band members:
Dan "Ozzie" Andrews: Basses
Gary Schwantes: Saxes and Bamboo Flutes
Robin Tolleson: Drums, Percussion
