The Hipshooters are what I refer to as the "ANZAC" Band, due to the fact that the Lead Guitarist, Anton Elkington and Bass Guitarist, Billy Williams are from New Zealand and the drummer Barry (lil' goose) Harvey is an "Aussie."

Album Notes

The Hipshooters are a trio which came from New Zealand and played in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, but asked Barry (lil\' goose) Harvey who was playing with OZ Band \"Chain\", when they approached (lil\' goose) to play drums with them because they wanted a drummer who fired up or was very energetic in his playing style. When the band started with this line-up it all came together and the band quickly amassed a big following where ever they played. It was a perfect combination as the New Zealand guys were very out front and full on in the energy stakes.

This Album was recorded at the \"Healer\" over a period of a few weeks and produced by the band and the sound engineer Mike (beachie) Wild who is a genius at recording and mixing and has made this Album\'s Guitar, Bass and Drum sound at a very high standard, along with the Vocals. This is one of the best Australian recordings that I have ever heard and the band really hits it in a very musical way. The album is a real crowd mover. Great feel all round.

Hipshooters CD

This is a great album and the recording sounds brilliant, crystal clear also the version of Manic Depression features the incredible drums of the band where they have extended all of the original Mitch Mitchell fills on the "Are You Experienced " Album and made each one 4 times as long, so the drum sound is brilliant too. A hard one to take on musically, but these guys have done it beautifully.
