Album Notes

Hi-Rez, aka High Resolution, consists of 4 members, Unsolved, Dedize, Bam, and Anette, all from Roanoke, Virginia. Unsolved and Dedize started the group in 2001, laying down the vocals for the tracks, "Red River", "Blue Ring" and "Dark Matter". Since then the group's music has evolved to include the teenage talent BAM, from the band Charlie Talks to Walls, who joined the group in 2002, lending her offbeat, dark sensibility to such bangers as "Warp Bleed", "Ded Dimension" and "Weapon Enhancement" and her angelic voice on several tracks. The chemistry was further enriched when Anette, 21, joined the group in 2004 with her beautiful, melodic voice breathing new life into such tracks as Frozun Explosion and Recycle Bin and bringing to mind the early days of Lauryn Hill. Their first release, Dark Matter, is an epic concept album about the shadows of the mind. The tracks range from brooding and personal, ("Solve It", "No Name", "The Lost Kite") to driving, thumping, hardcore beats and rhymes, ("Mega Eclipse", "Tangled Wires") Hi-Rez is all about bringing originality back to hip-hop. Group founders Unsolved and Dedize, both 26, came of age in the mid-nineties- when hip hop was most pure and grew up to the sounds of The Chronic, Enter the Wu-Tang and Gravediggaz 6 feet deep. Escape the lame painful world of reality shows and recycled flows. New horizons await you.
