ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Brutal, fast, and unrelenting rock that confronts and entertains with hardcore energy." - Bernard Baur: Music Connection Magazine

"One band stood out. One band from Los Angeles blew my fucking mind.
H Is Orange." - Josh, LocalMusicScenes.com, Eat'M conference

"You ever listen to a local band and think they should already be signed? To a major? H is Orange is a pretty exciting example of this."
- Porktartare.com/sound reviews
------------------
The band h is orange consists of Guy Staniar on drums, Troy Brittain on guitar, Marcel Blanco on bass, Jay Skinner on guitar/laptop and Sam Nelson on vocals. The band to date has successfully and independently completed four regional tours, distributed five-song e.p. "Be Silent and Know", acquired national radio play and film soundtrack inclusion, and performed opening slots for major label acts throughout the United States.

The h is orange sound is built on an aggressive hard rock foundation complimented by melodic textures and smart, well-crafted lyrics. Their closest musical references are the A Perfect Circle, Deftones, and Filter but reviewers have also compared them to "U2 with a fork in their ass".

Their unique and powerful sound - combined with an explosive, emotional live show - has made them stand out from the crowd; in fact, they were named by Music Connection Magazine in December 2002 as one of the "Top 100 Unsigned Bands."

With just two and a half years together, h is orange has firmly established their musical mark, but continue to evolve, with plans for a full-length CD of new recordings to be released in summer 2003. They plan to share the new songs with their fans throughout the country via a national tour in the fall.

Thanks for listening.

The idea that two of the tracks made it to the soundtrack of the beautifully made movie, May starring Angela Bettis gave it an appealing image to the music. I find the ideal very impressive, and after listening to this EP I look forward to hearing the full length.

Inspirational
Haven't heard this type of music in a long time. Radio might not be too friendly to this, but isn't that the case with groundbreaking bands? I am extremely lucky to own a copy of this disc. I wish this band all the best.
