Inspiring Music from Harrison Marshall
author: Margie Barron-The Tolucan Times
What a pleasure it was to discuss beautiful music, with Harrison Marshall. The kind I listen to on 1260 K-SURF radio. Marshall is a singer who truly appreciates the classic songs from the great American songbook, and he has put together some of his favorites in the "CD Moonlight Becomes You." Harrison's mellow voice wraps around the lyrics of Cole Porter tunes, such as "At Long Last Love" and "True Love," like a warm blanket on a chilly night. And he sets an easy-going mood, like the way Bing Crosby did when he crooned a tune. Harrison told me he has such tremendous respect for the music legacy left by Bing, Sinatra, Perry Como, etc., and wants to carry on their tradition. He's got a good start with Brian O'Rourke as his pianist, who is with the Les Brown Band and backs Marshall with his combo on the CD.
