This is real Scottish dance band style and as you’d hear in many “Ceilidh dance halls” across Scotland, with only the squeezebox, fiddle & piano appearing. Lots of harmonising between the fiddle & squeezebox makes this a pleasurable listen.

Album Notes

Just over a couple of years ago Ali MacGregor of the Tain Scottish Dance Band passed away after a long illness. While growing up in Scotland, Ali was my accordion mentor and music teacher for many years. So as a tribute to him and so his wonderful music wouldn’t be lost, I decided to publish a book with the kind assistance of Taigh Na Teud, publishers from the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
The book contains all the tunes he ever composed. He wrote many wonderful tunes for the people and places in and around the Highlands of Scotland that meant most to him.

To accompany the book I decided to record a CD. For this recording I got together with Scottish Fiddle Champion, Judi Nicolson who now lives in Katy, Texas and one of the finest piano accompanists on these shores, from Kentucky, Kendall Rogers.

All proceeds from the sales of the CD and the book go to MacMillan Cancer Nurses, Inverness, Scotland.
