Relentless in their pursuit of the amateur amid a world of dreary professionalists, this East Bay twosome is pioneering a new cult of Hobbyism—a movement some say--characterized by persistent irreverence, infectious harmonies, old & weathered acoustic guitars, rapid mood-cycling, autoharps, crafts-appreciation, harmonicas, cut'n'paste, banjos, blogs, pump organs, oysters and a strong commitment to fundamental electoral reform.

Revolutionary in tone, ascendent in spirit--an unintended consequence of global currency devaluation, or global warming perhaps--The Hobbyists’ anthem is one of hope, sung with echoes of country, bluegrass and traditional American folk.

The Hobbyists, Antonette Goroch & Greg Turner, are frequently sighted pursuing a variety of hobbies at Rodent Records in San Francisco. They have also been observed at the site of other cultural inflection points such as Chantigs, Liesl’s Wet Dress, Amazon Mollies , campfires, living rooms, porches and the Ashby BART station.
