solo album: STRANGE WORLD
Amongst these songs you will hear different shades of guitar based rock music that is at once hard hitting then gentle,with interweaving guitars at the root of the sound with a little jazz, a little country ,a little folk and a touch of classical.
The songs are quite varied and are written to stand up on their own account.Guitars are used to expand the songs and make them come even more alive.I do care a great deal about the words I sing as this is the inspiration for the music.The lyrics are meant to be challenging and thought provoking as poetry traditionally seeks to understand and question the human condition and the music is written to mirror this too.The themes may seem quite dark but there is a always a feeling of hope in the lyric while the music is intended to be uplifting to the listener.I hope that this feeling comes across.Holding the whole thing together magnificently are drums played by the superb ex-Wishbone Ash drummer Ray Weston.
