Album Notes

We started this album 2.5 years ago, and our busy individual lives got in the way of a quicker resolution. Nevertheless, voila! Recorded at my boss's studio in Dallas, TX (his name is Charley Pride, the famous Country singer, for whom I play fiddle/guitar), it has more polish than our freshman effort Totenlieder, which took about 2.5 days!
We start with a love song (about my lovely Frau), then launch right into religious angst, which I can't help writing about (it is fraught with possibilities). We sing about idleness, cleanliness, Mid-East frustration, a particular woman's regret, and more religious angst. We close with a new version of an old song (our engineer/co-producer/co-drummer Joey somehow convinced us to record this again because he thought we could do it in a more radio-friendly vein--you be the judge!) and a song I composed for Kim Browns' forthcoming novel about a stripper with--you guessed it--religious issues.
The title? I live in a house full of fur--four cats, to be exact. One's 19 and we are on deathwatch...unfortunately, she's NOT! I think she plans to be around for the third record.

REVIEWS

So glad I found you!

I was a huge Mildred fan. I went to a lot of their shows in DFW. Same for Spot. I feel The Hochimen have picked up where those bands left off. I'm very pleased! Totenlieder was great but this one is in constant rotation on my ipod. You'll definitely want to get this CD.

The Hochimen cometh...

This is not background music. These guys force you to pay attention. The intricate arrangment of rythem and rhyme are constantly poking you in the mind. A number of times I found myself asking how did they think of that and hitting the reverse button to have another go at it. This is intelligent rock, both the music and the lyricks are carefully thought and specifically placed. They are an incredible group of musicians with great talent. I like Reggie's take on the world. but I'm not sure I'd want him at the house on Christmas...Add this CD to your collection. You'll feel smarter just listening to it!
