Original electric/acoustic rock and blues songs by a former missionary of 14 years. They were inspired mainly after reading "The Calvary Road" by the late Roy Hession, which sparked a remarkably blessed time of personal revival; as a result, these songs seek to meet the sinner on street level with the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, whether it's someone coming to Christ for the first time, or the veteran servant of God who is fully aware of his need for the Saviour every day. They focus on the present power of the Blood of the Lamb, by which we are able to overcome, and the joy of doing the will of the Father and having fellowship with Him, through His Holy Spirit.

Cut 1, "Captain, Please Come Again", starts out with the sound of ocean waves hitting the sides of the boat and seagulls flying overhead, with concern over the approaching storm, and steadily builds to a rousing finish. It looks ahead, through Jesus' own words and those of the Apostle Paul to the Thessalonians, to the time of Christ's Return in Glory, and is a song of encouragement and hope to those who will still be here on earth at that time faithfully awaiting His arrival! "My personal goal is that 'Captain' will top the underground Christian charts during the Great Tribulation, whether I'm still here or not..." -Peter
Cut 2, "Thank You, Father", is a song of praise and thanks to the Father, Son and Spirit.
Cut 3, "Just Let Me Lay Down", calls out to the weary soul; just lay yourself down at the foot of Calvary's Cross.
Cut 4, "Sunrise" is a feel-good tune about finding the Lord and walking His "Highway of Holiness" (Isaiah 35:8)!
Cut 5, "Prodigal's Return", focuses on the candid love of the Father toward his returning wayward son in Jesus' own words from Luke 15; it's one of the most moving moments in the Scripture and demonstrates how much the Father, God Himself, loves each one of us as His own returning child. "...'Prodigal's Return' is written on a very personal level, since I find myself needing to return to the Father, in like manner, many times each day! How great and wonderful is our God..." Luke 15:20 is spoken during the song.

Cut 6, "Wings To Fly" seeks to loosen our grip on the things and cares of this world in order to get a taste of the freedom and exhilaration of "seeking those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God" (Colossians 3:1). "Simply to Thy Cross I cling."
Cut 7, "Born Again!", celebrates 'the joy of the Lord' as our strength. No matter what else is going on, the joy of the Lord can be ours all the time, like the hour we first believed.
Cut 8, "B.O.T.D." is a harmonica-driven blues tune about that old "Destroying Angel", who "walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"(I Peter 5:8) and the great protection we have (in spite of our own failures) in the precious Blood of the Lamb!...(the blood of a spotless lamb placed, according to God's command, on the doorpost of one's house caused the angel of death to pass over that house in Moses' day (Exodus 12), and the same applies to us today, "for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us." (I Corinthians 5:7)...If His Blood is On The Doorpost of our life.
Cut 9, "Spirit Of Christ", seeks the "rivers of living faith" as our hearts are warmed and melted by the mercy and love of the Spirit. But we need to be frankly honest with Him about our failure and need, as He is indeed the Spirit of Truth, and knows our need even before we ask!
Cut 10, "Revelations" looks into the midst of the throne of God where stood a "Lamb as it had been slain"; probably the rockiest song on the album...
Cut 11, "Walk With Me Lady", is an honest song glorifying Christian marriage and committment. "Husbands, love your wives" (Ephesians 5:25, Colossians 3:19)
Cut 12, "Just A Little Sin" is a friendly warning, mostly to myself. "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." Proverbs 28:13 "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin"! I John 1:7 & 8)

About the Artist:
Born in New York City, Peter Liam Holcross was an only child who was broken by his mother's death when he was 18. After a time of mental and spiritual pain and searching, Peter was led by a life-altering dream, and some very surrendered Christians, into the overwhelming grace and love of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that amazing love has filled his life abundantly ever since! Peter became a missionary to many countries over 14 years abroad, with music serving as the main way into people's hearts around the world. While serving the Lord on the mission field, Peter met Karen, and the Lord has blessed them with nine wonderful children, and one fine grandson. Peter is currently a police officer on an island in South Carolina.

Well, congratulations Mr Holcross, it all sounds pretty good to me.
author: Liz Knowles, Cross Rhythms Magazine (Issue #78Jan/Feb 2004)You can’t judge a CD by its cover. This has a powerful image of a cross of lightning, and the font style looks darkly gothic. What of the music? It defies categorisation. A mature folky voice (coy about his age, Holcross admits to being a granddad), some great acoustic guitar and it turns out that thanks to Korg recording equipment, this is a genuine one man band. Well, congratulations Mr Holcross, it all sounds pretty good to me. Reminds me a bit of The Waterboys in places, some great blues too.
