Album Notes

HOLIDELIC- The alternative to the Rockettes.
Everett Bradley and his wacky funk band bring you his annual holiday funk-tacular, Holidelic! Holidelic blends the musical influences of P-Funk, Sly Stone and other 1970’s and ‘80’s funk and soul bands in original songs that celebrate diversity, mild familial seasonal dysfunction, individuality, and holiday booty shaking. Everett’s show was inspired by his rave reviewed holiday CD, TOY. This CD has 14 new original songs featuring duets with Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora, jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, and siren singer Ann Hampton Callaway. Since it’s inception, Everett’s sold out performances have featured a range of artists from Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, hip hop’s John Forte to pop chanteuse Lucy Woodward, dancing trombonist Jonathan Arons, and the legendary Celeste Holm; obviously celebrating one’s uniqueness and diversity with the power of the groove as his common denominator. As the songs and audiences grew, so did Everett’s contemporary wide eyed look at the holidays. Ev’s show eventually evolved into his infectious Holidelic! This year Holidelic is dropping it’s highly anticipated self titled debut album on Black Friday, and is scheduled for a full run at NYC’s legendary Joe’s Pub Dec 17-20. Visit www.holidelic.com. Tearin’ roofs off since 2002!

Met Everett on his Hall & Oats tour last year. He wasn't kidding when he mentioned he had a big Christmas project coming. Haven't seen the live show, can't get to NYC then, boo hoo!), but the CD is cool. "One Christmas Under a Groove." Only one or two that didn't slay, I mean sleigh me. Ha ha ha.

Everett Bradley made my Black Friday shine. The "smooth jazz" Christmas songs were already hitting the airwaves and making me queasy, and this was the antidote, in my mailbox, yesterday! I love funk and this band SO obviously loves the bands I loved *(but stirs it up 2010). Original, insane, silly/crazy, moving. I am THERE at Joe's Pub.
