Album Notes

In "Faeries" Phil has gently immersed herself in the faery world of Ireland and Scotland, specifically, the Sidhe of Ireland and the Selkie of Scottish legend.
She has arranged pieces by O’Carolan, some traditional songs, set to music the words of Shakespeare and W.B. Yeats and written some entirely orginal songs.
"As always I find there is a natural crossover between old and new, real and imaginary, which flows through the music and the mind reaching our innermost thoughts and feelings, and despite the world in which we live there are still many people whose hearts and minds can hear the message."Phil Holland
A Celtic harpist, singer and songwriter, Phil is a classically trained musician with Celtic roots. Her music contains many influences from classical to traditional including jazz and minimalist inspired sounds.
Her music however transcends genre and category. Her peaceful, reflective style touches the heart and souls of people of all ages, from all walks of life, all over the world.

“Phil Holland is a discerning and exacting performer. Her (not so secret) weapon is her sweetness and delicacy; in the movement of her violin bow, in the plucking of the strings of her harp and in her voice, which amazes in its perfect moulding of ornamentations and long, held notes, always careful never to overdo either.
Charm and modesty are her emerging qualities which is why she is appreciated by such a wide-ranging audience.
Phil has all the qualities to make people dream if they enter into her world of faeries.”Folk Bulletin
