Album Notes

The New York City based songwriter/producer duo, Hollins Steele (Dayna Hollins and Benny Steele) co-own The Steele Factory, a state-of-the-art recording studio and production house, where they produce and write for artists in the pop, rock, dance, and R&B genres. Benny also makes hip-hop beats/tracks.

Hollins Steele has worked with and recorded musicians at The Steele Factory including Raphael Saadiq, Amp Fiddler (George Clinton, Parliament/Funkadelic); Daniel Sadownick (Steeley Dan, Meshell N'degeocello); Booker King (Santana, Kelis); Tomas Doncker (The Neville Brothers, Bonnie Raitt); Matt Beck (Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas); Ken Hellman (Sting); John Deley (Dido) and jazz greats: Lincoln Goines, Robbie Ameen, Michael Cain, Gregoire Maret and Reuben Rodriguez. Dayna has also performed on David Letterman's Late Show singing backgrounds for Fergie.

Hollins Steele has produced rock singer Colby Prior (opened for Gavin Degraw), R&B singer/songwriter Michelle Collins and is currently producing songs for an upcoming inspirational/pop/rock album by singer/songwriter Stevi Alexander (Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani). Benny Steele mixed rapper Theory's Plan B: Theory is Everything (which had a track at #1 on Kiss FM 96.1) and engineered trance artist Jan Johnston's vocal tracks for an upcoming Paul Oakenfold release.

Hollins Steele recently completed a pop/rock album, Songs from Vanderbilt Avenue, which they wrote and produced. Their work on Songs from Vanderbilt Avenue has earned them stellar 5 star reviews, a winning song in the Unisong International Songwriting Competition 2005 (Pop Performance category), multiple honorable mentions (Billboard, Unisong) and awards (2006 Kweevak "Music Project of the Year" Reader's Survey Winner). Hollins Steele was one of ten advanced songwriters selected for the ASCAP Extended Songwriter's Workshop in June 2006.

Dayna and Benny have signed licensing deals with Red Bull Energy Drink for international advertising purposes and WACBIZ, among others.

They both attended New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where they received Bachelor of Music degrees. Benny attended NYU's graduate program in Music Technology and has since recorded countless full albums, demos and voice-overs. Benny is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.

North East In-Tune Magazine says of Hollins Steele: "very well written and produced and the overall sound is that of perfection".
