Album Notes

Bob Hollister
singer/songwriter

Bob Hollister lives and writes his music on his land in south-central Montana, where he is fulfilling a life-long dream of living in harmony with nature and preserving a piece of the fast-disappearing prairie. Here Bob lives off the grid, producing sustainable energy using a wind and solar power system he and his brother built. Bob draws on his experiences in wildlife biology, ranching, teaching and yoga and his personal journeys in love, friendship, loss and spiritual awakening to write his songs.

A longtime favorite of the Colorado acoustic music scene, Bob has produced two CDs, Grey Rain (1993) and Out of the Mainstream (1995), on his own independent label, Longwing Records. He has been the opening act for performers such as David Wilcox, The Subdudes, Cliff Eberhardt, Richard Shindell, Jesse Colin Young, Jonathan Edwards and Dave Mason. Hollister's band has twice performed and placed (2nd and 4th) in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival's band contest.

Hollister's performances have been described as dynamic, sensitive, and captivating the kind of stuff that makes you sing along and feel good (John Magnie, The Subdudes). Bob is an energetic performer with immense talent (Deni LaRue, former Program Director, KSCU radio). His songs cover a lot of emotional and musical ground from love and angst to joy and celebration from rich acoustic melodies to rockin jams from Montana Moons to Martyr Towns.

Bob is currently touring and promoting his new crop of songs at regional and national venues, and his long-awaited third cd is scheduled for release in 2003.
