Album Notes

An accessible, masses-friendly, contemporary rock band, HOllOW seems to do everything right. Catchy melodies, satisfying thick hooks, and timely screams make this band a perfect match for anyone who loves the newer heavy/alt genre of the current popular music culture.

HOllOW is a basement grown 4-piece seeded by the drummer & bassist who were bored with the cover band scene. In early 2003 they had the good fortune of hooking up with a guitar player and singer that had already been writing. A couple of sessions later they had already written their first song "All I Am" and HOllOW was underway.

Within 2 months of forming, HOllOW had already written 6 songs and was frequently playing local quad city venues. Within 4 months they were picked as one of the top 5 bands in region and competed in the 93 rock (www.93rock.net) Band-A-Monium contest placing 2nd. 7 months after the band had formed they recorded & produced their first 10 song EP "MESH". Additionally, HOllOW has been continuously invited to share the stage with signed nationals due to their growing popularity and fan base.

In an increasingly crowded genre, HOllOW distinguishes themself with an innate ability to throw in unexpected pauses and implement creative time signature changes right when you least expect it. Their unique blend of unusual rhythms and heavy riffing is what makes their music interesting enough to make you want to hit the play button again.

With thick, heavy grooves and melodic anthems it's hard to say who this band is influenced by. They seem to have taken a little something from everything and created a sound that is inherently theirs.

HOllOW continues to write and play the Midwest in support of their EP release gaining recognition and fan base with every appearance.
