ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“If Dwight Yoakham covered a Glenn Danzig version of a Gin Blossoms song…”

Hollywood & Vine, the “band,” is originally rooted out of Chicago, IL. Frederick Ryland Fisher, Jr. (Ryland Foxx) decided he wanted to be a part of the entertainment business at an early age by taking on music first, as a drummer. Within a couple years of playing in bands, he decided he would rather be at the forefront of an ensemble as a lead singer/frontman/songwriter, and as a result, taught himself to sing and write, both musically and lyrically. At age 13, Fisher had his first studio experiences, recording a 3-song demo, where he sang lead vocals, played drums, guitar, and even a couple bass tracks. Within a couple of years, the sound and songwriting style transformed from a catchy, punk rock sound, to a more matured, power-pop rock feel.

At age 15, he made his way to Memphis, Tennessee, and recorded tracks at the world-famous Sun Studios (Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins). By 16, he started to push early versions of his songs to radio, as they started to develop around this time, and gained some airplay/interview time on college radio. Before long, he began making trips to Los Angeles, being arguably, one of the youngest to perform at various clubs and venues that his heroes made famous decades earlier, by literally lying his way into bookings; Fisher continues to perform at those venues to this day.

For the next five years or so, he performed with many musicians in many variations of different bands, as he continued to develop as a performer and writer, while playing solo shows frequently. By 2007, at age 21, he was able to write, perform on, and produce his first album that he would release nationally, with the help of a few fellow musicians, under the name: Hollywood & Vine. Hollywood & Vine, as a band, performed live consistently from 2005-Present in the Chicago/Los Angeles Club/Venue circuit with different members as time went on. By age 22, Fisher started his own entertainment company called, Hollywood & Vine Recordings & Entertainment in order to properly release his music, produce his films/media, and his live entertainment endeavors.

As far as front men/singers go, Fisher has been compared to the likes of Jim Morrison (The Doors), Elvis Presley, Glenn Danzig (Danzig, Samhain, The Misfits), Roy Orbison, and Dion Dimucci (The Belmonts), to name a few. With his on-stage charisma, antics, and interaction with his growing audience, the 25-year-old is very much so on his way to bringing his own fresh flavor of popular rock music to the masses, with his entertaining live show and his brand new, second release, “All You Want.” With a country-twang to his baritone voice, a head for rock/ballad songwriting, his eccentric recording style, and an ear for production and pop-value, Hollywood & Vine records sound like almost nothing you have ever heard, but definitely something you wish you had found years ago.

Frederick Ryland Fisher, Jr. is a registered and working member of the largest music publishing organization in the world: ASCAP(American Society of Composers and Publishers). His music has been featured in short films, television commercials, and numerous other media outlets.

Fisher has recorded/performed with members of Guns N Roses, Korn, Enuff Z’Nuff, Imperial Drag, L.A. Guns, Quiet Riot, and countless others, as well as guitar masters: Johnny and Jimmy Douglas, to name a few. His albums, "One Way Ticket"(2007) and “All You Want,” (2011) which both have received critical acclaim from many online music publications, can be purchased on ITUNES, AMAZON, WALMART, PAYPLAY, NAPSTER, and most other digital retailers. Fisher is also currently working on a third full-length Hollywood & Vine release, entitled: Learning to Fly; and a fourth E.P. release entitled: Life, Love, and Tragedy. Release is to be determined.

from hollywood to Nashville
every generation will appreciate their timeless quality...its funny the band named themselves what they did because their music is rooted in rock n roll, but appeals to true music fans worldwide, from the glitz n glmour of hollywood, to the heart and soul of nashville and appeals to everyone...its surprisingly real for what you think would be a cheesy bunch of love songs. The cliches are used in a very smart way. The most nostalgic songs could have been based in truth or fantasy, but it doesnt matter, because when you really listen, you hear things beyond just a catchy chorus line or a great guitar lick. Everything from true love to raw sex. its a perfect balance between feeling, in whatever way, without being fake. From beginning to end, its all real, and no pretentiousness. its just good, start to finish, and doesnt need to grow on you....the music just is... its better than good...its like the BEATLES... sometimes you put it on when youre sick of everything else and dont know what to put on, or sometimes its the only thing that you want to listen to...
