ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
About hologramª...

This music draws its inspiration from the holographic principle in nature, the universe and existence itself...that is, just as the vastness of the macrocosm is a reflection of the wonders of the microcosm, so our own lives relate to the same unity that underlies it all, organically, energetically, physically and spiritually.....thus making it all ONE.

Featuring the talents of accomplished musicians L. Raul Romero on guitar, Ricardo Pons on saxophones, Ricky Rodriguez on acoustic bass, Efrain Martinez on bass and recorded in a transparent and creative atmosphere by producer Enrique Gonzalez Diaz. This quartet, who has performed together for over 5 years and who started out as a music workshop have individually performed and recorded with a veritable who's-who roster of jazz and latin jazz stars like Slide Hampton, Giovanni Hidalgo, Mario Bauza, Steve Khan, Eddie Gomez, Branford Marsalis, Tito Puente, Chick Corea, Ron Carter.....and the list goes on.

Fusing elements of acoustic and electric jazz, classical influences, sound design and afro-caribbean rhythms, hologramª portrays the mystery and wonder of Creation and the development of our universe as a living entity. It intends to be a series of albums each exploring a facet of our human experience and to study, in musical terms, the age-old questions about the origins and future of our existence.

Great album!
...the mix of fusion, ambient and straight jazz makes for a very interesting cd. The musicianship is first class, i love the interplay between guitar and sax - a great cd that I will be featuring on my shows here in New Zealand...I will give a copy away on my show after playing one of the tracks!

Mike Townsend-Boulder, CO

A spectacular and fresh approach to jazz!
Great, great stuff! This music is truly a trip from beginning to end and I'm glad I stumbled upon it! The compositions are majestic and the use of samples is very cinematic; these guys may be unknown but believe me, not for long. I found the more progressive pieces to be the key-for those of us who enjoy a more modern approach to jazz, this is a great find. A hidden gem!

A new beginning in Jazz...
I first saw these guys back in PR while studying at the InterAmerican University (where Ricardo Pons teaches). From that very day I knew that I was witnessing a new age in Jazz Fusion. Everything from the soundscapes to the intricate and well textured compositions create a listening experience that is tough to imitate! Kudos to the band for the great album. I hope to hear more soon!
