Let It Slide, the newest CD by multi-Grammy winner David Holt represents a fresh direction in David's highly-acclaimed career.
"The slide guitar saved my life. After my ten year old daughter, Sara Jane, was killed in a car accident in 1989, I actually had to make a list of reasons to stay alive. A friend gave me an old National guitar. I immediately broke off the neck of a wine bottle and started experimenting with slide. The aching, liquid, bluesy notes that came out were an antidote to my pain."
Sam Bush, Doc Watson, Kenny Malone, Byron House and Gina Wammock round out the stellar artists featured here. David is recognized as one of the foremost old-time musicians and a master storyteller. His recordings, including Legacy with Doc Watson, Live & Kickin' and Grandfather's Greatest Hits, have garnered him four Grammy Awards and numerous Grammy nominations. David is known as host of many popular programs on PBS, TNN and public radio's Riverwalk Jazz. Southern Living magazine recently pronounced David a "Southerner Making a Difference."
"For thirty five years traditional songs, old time music and the banjo have been my focus. But now in the mix are more personal songs...and the slide guitar. I had always enjoyed writing songs when the spirit moved me, but after we lost Sara Jane the floodgates opened and the songs just poured out. Some were serious, some sad, some flat-out fun. Just like life."

Playing slide is now at the top of David's list for making life full again. Let It Slide is the moving tribute to Sara Jane and the indomitable human spirit.
