Rough Hewn Heart a newfound treasure

Man, I heard this guy on MySpace and had to check him out. The vocals are rough hewn just as the title. The emotions you feel in the songs are sadness, joy, despair, longing, nostalgia. The lyrics draw you in much as Dylan and Springsteen do. Case in point, Ghost of Kerouac tells such a story of throwing off the expectations of what should be. Found, hints of late 60s early 70s singer songwriter with happiness and pain. Younger, yeah a lot of nostagia there. Love the line "I just walked around the town last night and thought about when, we used to run around the town at night but we were so much younger then". We've all been there or thought it but this guy puts it into words. I Saw You just a beautiful composition. And Life Again is very ethereal. Hey, just my opinion but this us a cd that should be heard, and heard again. One of my top picks this year. Damn this is good!!!
