In 1973, Michael Lingg, Bruce Johnson, and Patrick Durr combined their diverse musical histories to "play a little music over the summer" at the Vintage Restaurant in their hometown of Modesto, California.
That summer has stretched into decades of fun, friendship, and ageless music-making that has delighted thousands of listeners.
The name Home Grown was chosen to represent their local roots and to capture the "earthiness" of their acoustic music.
Planning to just have a little fun over a single summer, they chose to do songs from a wide variety of musical styles; whatever sounded good or like fun to them.
As luck would have it, audiences were pleasantly surprised as each subsequent song unfolded, wondering what they would do next.
A dedicated following quickly grew, undeterred by the difficult question, "Well, what kind of music do they play"? What kind of music do they play? Just about anything.
Rock, country, big band swing, classic standards from every era in the past century, lots of Beatles, Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor, and many of these influences combined into their own compositions.
Three voices, two guitars, a lot of percussion, lots and lots of fun.
And it's all Home Grown.

A great disk!

I ordered the CD and actually talked to a "human". Imagine! How refreshing! He took the order and the whole process took only a minute or so. A couple of days later PRESTO!, the CD arrived in great shape and it was everything I expected. This has the group's old songs with a few new ones thrown in for good measure. If you like Homegrown (and who doesn't), this is the CD to buy. Good job, CDBaby! I'll be back for more!

This CD is awesome! All the songs are great. We even like to sing karaoke to it with our friends. There is something on it for everyone. I even gave one to my parents as a gift and it has become one of their favorites. Great job!
