Album Notes

Lots of bands say they're all about the music, but Honey White proves it every time they get together and just play. The band began in Santa Barbara during 2002 when the brothers Bryn and Keir DuBois recruited guitarist Brian Wolff and drummer Bill Fedderson to help them mash together rock, roots, punk, and reggae into a unique mix of expansively epic noise. Honey White soon plowed into the chaotic Isla Vista vortex of keg parties and guerrilla gigs, and also teamed up with other acts in downtown Santa Barbara during the following year. The band's first formal recordings were released as the "My Band Rocks" EP, which was praised as "some of the finest music to come out of Isla Vista" by the Santa Barbara Independent. The band continues to gig and record in the Santa Barbara area.

I thought the cd was great! I want to buy the next one. My only complaint was that there weren't more songs on it but the one's that are on it are great. I dig it.

Some of the best music to come out of Isla Vista.
author: Johanna Reed for the Santa Barbara Independent
When the DuBois brothers a-get together to tear it apart, the sweet result is some of the finest music to come out of Isla Vista since the glory days of Leadhead. First the Mojo Wire rocked our indie-alt-rock socks off; now Honey White prompts us to put on our '50s fringe bikinis and do the swim. But aside from the get-down, get-wet tracks, 'My Band Rocks' showcases eerie laments to towns on fire, and throws in a Johnny Cash tune for kicks. Perfect for surfer kids who can't tan, or bookworms who love to par-tay.
