Album Notes

Hong Nhung recorded her first song for the Radio of Vietnam at 11. At the age of 22, Hong Nhung met with Trinh Cong Son, the song writer who is considered the Bob Dylan of Vietnam. She became his voice, singing his hundreds of love songs as well as anti war songs. Hong Nhung has since evolved into the premier diva of Vietnam performing for countless audiences and dignitaries around the world.

Hong Nhung has done 10 CDs of her own production ( www.hongnhung.vn ) as well as countless recordings for other labels. The most significant of these was the soundtrack to the Hollywood production of “The Quiet American” directed by Phillip Noyce. Hong Nhung provided all of the vocals for this moving and poignant music created by Craig Armstrong.

Hong Nhung continues to create and perform new music as well as introducing the timeless music of Trinh Cong Son to new generations of Vietnam.
