Album Notes

Have you heard him yet?

If not, sit back and get ready, you've been waiting to hear him whether you know it or not!

"James goes from enticing crowds with his crystal clear concert hall vocals to hammering out a gritty tune in front of a coffeehouse audience; He just has a way of connecting with each and every listener."

Truth be told, his music is as genuine as he is...and if you've met him, you know what we're talking about!

This guy is no newcomer, and although his music proves that point, his attitude will have you thinking that he's the new guy in town...a warm smile and ready handshake await all those fortunate enough to catch his live show.

Can't make it to the next one? You'd best get his CD for a taste of the studio version!

Not sure if we're just making this stuff up? Well, James continues to be recognized for his vocal talent, evidenced by his receiving the 2004 SSA Spiritual Song of the Year Award (for "I Believe") and the 2001 SSA Male Vocalist of the Year Award, a definite honor.

Influenced by his favorite popular performers, James transformed his classical training into a mesmerizing display of what a true vocalist can do. He says he owes artists like Paul Overstreet, Steven Curtis Chapman, Marty Robbins, James Taylor, Alison Krauss and John Denver for motivating him not only to sing, but to write as well.

This comes as no surprise, especially since his voice has been described as:

"The passion of James Taylor with the silk of Marty Robbins"

"...at times exquisitely beautiful and other times organically gritty..."

"Unabashedly genuine without the imperfections that usually accompany such a description...no excuses here folks, the real deal has arrived."

As for his current CD...with the likes of GRAMMY WINNERS Jim Keltner and Roger Nichols, as well as Joel Rosenblatt and Gumbi Ortiz playing integral parts, this CD is the realization of many sacrificial days and nights...and it will soon be followed by an acoustic CD due out in 2006.

Listen, don't take our word for it, listen to some clips and you'll realize there is something about his music that appeals to everyone...if you love genuine music performed and played by genuine artists, then James Horning is your newest addition!

Keep playing the acoustical guitar! It sounds great. Music flows so well on all the songs. Great lyrics, they connect well with daily life/living. I also like how the artist's faith is woven through the album. Keep spreading the good news of our risen Lord and Saviour and the hope He gives all mankind!

I love this CD! Each song is such a treat. I can’t begin to pick a favorite. James’ voice has such power and depth and the accompaniment, ranging from acoustic guitar to button accordion, is fantastic.
