Be Water

by Host Echo

If Radiohead opened up a bar, hired Beck as their senior bartender and had a 2-for-1 hip hop night where Incubus hooked up with Portishead, the lovechild would be called Host Echo.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With the high quality ingredients of a classically trained guitarist, a jazz vocalist, an electronic musician, a rock bass player and smoked-out drums, Host Echo is truly a musical evolution. Starting with solid compositions, the band focuses heavily on mood and thoughtful lyrics. With the inclusion of a chill beat made from electronic and organic percussion, the groove is definitely set. Putting their minds, hearts and souls together, Host Echo tastefully blends rock, soul and jazz into an worldly eclectic sound.

Their involvement in the music community is at the root. First were a series of Woodbox Theater Events, where the band organized and helped to raised hundreds of dollars for the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center, a non-profit community coalition. Other events have included a fundraiser for a new People Inc. respite house and a New Orleans Benefit, which raised thousands of dollars for the American Red Cross.

With the release of their debut LP "Be Water" and the recognition as the Niagara Area Molson Music Awards "Best Original Band", Host Echo was ready to expand their presence through great live performances. Playing venues throughout Western NY, the band enjoyed an excellent response from venue owners and concert goers alike. That encouragement and support motivated several regional tours that have taken Host Echo's live show everywhere from Chicago to NYC.

Building on that success, the band released "Live at Shadow", an album recorded during their 15-month residency at a Niagara Falls martini bar. The live disc was given as a token of gratitude to the many friends and fans whom loyaly attended those weekly late night sets. That album was a precursor for the "Song Cycle ep", a disc of songs and instrumental interludes. That CD release concert was Host Echo's most successful and signified an end of an era and a bounding for greater ambitions.

The members of the band are anxious to record and release their wealth of new material upon the world and to perform their music live for a greater audience.
