Red Beans & Caviar was recorded on May 2nd, 3rd and 22nd of 2007. The goal was to capture the sound of Hot & Cool playing 'live' in the parlour room of the Duncan/Johnstone's vintage 1865 home in the coastal town of Cambria, California. What you get is essentially the sound of four or five musicians playing together, the Hot and Cool core quartet (Duane Inglish on accordion, Allan Dick on fiddle/violin, Ted Waterhouse on guitar and Fred Murray on bass) joined by Piper Heisig on percussion and Jim Stromburg on drums.
It's like the Hot & Cool Orchestra was playing down at your local roadhouse, bistro, concert hall or backyard barbecue. If you like music that's a little bit different, delivered with energy, wit, heart and soul then we're pretty sure you're going to enjoy this collection.
